Abstract

Introduction. The article considers a problem of improving the pan head suspension of the electric rolling stock pantographs.  The parameter influence of the pantograph head suspension of the electric rolling stock on the current collection process is being described.

Methods and results. The factors influencing the choice of the pantograph head suspension rigidity are analyzed. It is noted that in order to preserve the initial dynamics of the interaction between the pantograph and the catenary, it is necessary to use pan head suspension elastic elements with a controlled characteristic of static pressure, but constant rigidity. A method for modernizing pantograph pan head suspension using intra-spring pneumatic elements with a controlled static pressure characteristic has been proposed. Mathematical modeling of a pantograph equipped with controlled spring pneumatic elements in pantographs using a model with reduced masses has been carried out.

Conclusion. The data obtained as a result of mathematical modeling and experimental studies indicate the persistence of the spread of contact pressure when using intra-spring pneumatic elements, regardless of the force of static pressure of the pantograph.
